day 66

Last night was awesome! I had a perfect eating day at about 1600 calories and an awesome roller derby workout last night! My legs are sooooooo sore. I’ve been icing this morning and I’ll try to stretch more today. We now have 2 weeks off from roller derby practice and I’m a little bummed about it. My goal for these 2 weeks is to skate about 1o times before practice starts up again, even if it’s just a short skate each time, continue with my conditioning workouts, and hopefully lose a few pounds so I’ll be ready to rock when we start up again.

Now my question is…should I work out today? I’m def going to do a long walk (although it looks like it will be just on the treadmill today since my street is practically flooded at the moment) but I feel motivate to do more than that! IDK though I should probably let myself recover from yesterday. I’d love to do a good ab workout too, haven’t really done one all week, and I’d love to swim again but that might be too much on my legs plus my neck which is a bit sore too. Hmmm I guess I’ll start with the walk and see how it goes.

Better go have some good food first! I am craving junk food SO MUCH right now! Guess that’s what I get for being good yesterday!

Have a happy, healthy day!

day 65

Well, yesterday was not the best. Pretty good day for food but then I blew it in the evening! Plus, it was a  light workout day! All I did was about 15 mins of roller skating, a little walking, a little swing dancing, and a 20 minute home workout. I’m trying to develop my own home workout with no weights, no nothing that I can do whenever I can’t make it to the gym and it’s too dark to walk outside. Ideas anyone?

I’m about to head out to walk as many miles as I possibly can! Gotta kill those glycogen stores! The question is how long can I handle the heat and how long will my shins hold up. I got ankle braces and new sneakers!! I’m kinda excited about it, is that totally lame?  Anyway, this evening we have a guest coach coming in for roller derby practice and I’m terrified. I have a feeling it’s going to be ROLLER DERBY BOOT CAMP and seeing as I’m still the newest person on the team, I don’t know how well this will go for me. We have been reminded several times today to “carb load” but I don’t think I can bring myself to do that. I mean how many carbs am I really going to burn? I just don’t know and I sure don’t want a huge lump of pasta sitting in my liver waiting for me to work out some more! I already have one of those from last night!!

day 63

Yesterday I had a great workout and I’m ready for more today! I feel a little stiff though, def need to stretch! I have been really slacking on my stretching!!

Foodwise things are going well. I had the most delicious lunch today! It was an egg white omelet with salsa, a little tomato, mozerella and monterey cheese, a bit of hot sauce, pepper, and some left over chicken and veggies. SOOO good!!

I feel really good right now. I hope this abs diet (with some modifications to make it right for me) is gonna finally get that scale moving.

I am having a minor dilemma!! I love swimming and def want to do a lot of it this summer. But I’m not supposed to because I dye my hair. I love my hair color now and get a lot of compliments on it. But exercise is obviously more important and I think swimming will be  a great one for me. SIGH what to do

Have a happy, healthy day everyone!

day 62 cont.

Ok I logged in all my food for the day. Considering all the exercise I did today I came out to about 700 more calories out than in so I guess that’s good. Still need to focus on more proteins, less carbs! This is a huge challenge for me, but so important especially with my increased activity level. I really want to lose fat and gain muscle!!

day 62

So today is the start of Summer Survivor and also the day I start abs diet! So far, I absolutely love it. I’m starting to wonder, can this really work? I feel like I’m eating SO MUCH FOOD.

For exercise I went Swimming this morning and heading off to the gym soon. Swimming was a great exercise for me today, think I’m going to incorporate that into more workouts :)

Have a happy, healthy day everyone!

day 57

Well I’m really getting into these challenge forums so I might not be blogging too much for a while. I just joined the Summer Survivor challenge and it looks like that will take up a lot of my time, it seems likes a lot of work, hopefully with a lot of results!!

Today I was at Barnes and Noble and I started reading the book on The Abs Diet. I am thinking about trying that one out for a while. It claims that it will help you lose fat and not muscle, which I know has been a mistake in my dieting in the past. I also like the way it focuses on a wholesome nutrition with fruits, veggies, protein, fiber, and the omega 3s.

Two other things I’ve been better about that I think will make a difference in my weight loss are taking my vitamins and getting more fiber. Also, I’ve been drinking this Crystal Light Hunger Control, and maybe it’s all in my head, but I do feel some difference throughout the day.

Well thats all for now.

Have a happy, healthy week!

day 55

Wow last night was a wild party at my place. I can’t even think about all the calories!! I have to be really, extra good today.

RD practice tonight. Hopefully I’ll have time to walk beforehand.

Hope everyone’s having a great weekend!

day 53

Goals checkup:

Completed 3 C25k workouts (out of 12)

did 28 pushups (out of 120)

did 20 sets of leg lifts (out of 100)

3 planks (out of 50…this goal was obviously too high)

no soda since vacation!

have been ok about stretching…could always do more

day 51

ok I think I really need some kind of nutrition plan. not a rigid diet, but some healthy goals I can work towards each day. logging calories is a bore and doesn’t help when i’m away from my computer for too long. maybe i need some guidelines to think about when i eat. not really sure what. somebody help!

day 50

3rd c25k workout is complete! it felt a lot easier than the previous 2, but still not quite ready to start week 2. one more week 1 workout should do it. i was feeling really sore last night from monday and tuesday’s workouts. i iced/applied heat like crazy last night and this morning and did as much stretching as I could. today I was still pretty stiff, but I think my jogging and the extra walking I threw in actually helped loosen up my aches. I know some days you should just rest and give your body a break if it needs it, but sometimes a light workout really helps loosen you up.

tomorrow it’s pilates in the morning, 3 miles walk afterwards, and RD practice in the evening. then possibly more ice afterwards!  i am really happy to be increasing my exercise intensity this week, i just hope my back can handle it. i’ve had issues on and off with minor back pain. not sure the reason. i do have scoliosis but the doc says it’s probably not severe enough to be causing me pain. i might try to schedule a few trips to the PT in the near future if my back doesn’t get its act together soon! if nothing else, they’ll teach me more exercises to do!  good news…the knee and foot pain problems I was having earlier this year haven’t been bothering me anymore. I hope they’re gone for good! I’m pretty sure the knee problems were caused by gaining weight, putting extra pressure on my knees, and letting my leg muscles get weaker. so just toning up my legs I think has been enough to alleviate the knee problems. The foot pain I’ve handled by a bunch of foot exercises/massages/stretches my ballet teacher showed us. I’m no expert but if anyone else has foot pain I could try to explain the little things I do for my feet…they work wonders!

Hope everyone has a happy healthy day!
